The province has fully transitioned to an Expression of Interest model for immigration applications.

This means:

• Applicants now submit a form outlining their qualifications.
• The province reviews submissions and issues Invitations to Apply (ITAs) based on labor market needs.

Recent Immigration Draws

Two major draws were held recently:

• August 13, 2025:
  • 180 ITAs under the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP)
  • 51 ITAs under the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP)
• August 29, 2025:
  • 125 ITAs under NLPNP
  • 77 ITAs under AIP

That’s a total of 202 new invitations in the latest round, aimed at addressing local labor shortages in sectors like healthcare, trades, and tech.
